Ferry Boat Captain

This was the captain of the ferry. He sat at the very back, and had to listen for signals from the other ferrymen.

Boy hiding

I have no idea why this kid was hiding; all of the other kids kept trying to get us to give them money and pens.

Bath Time

Despite the reputation of Indian rivers as being polluted and filthy, the rivers in Alleppey seemed relatively clean. Clean enough for these kids, anyway, to have fun at bath time.

The water plants grew EVERYWHERE. They were really difficult to canoe through, because they get caught on the paddles, and they push back against the boat, too.
